Strength, Support and Courage on Memorial Day
RC Meditation
(Spring, 2002: 5/27/02)

This meditation may be reproduced and distributed provided the copyright information is included.

Please remember to do the opening and closing meditations before and after the channeled meditation. Also, we have been instructed by the RC to drink water at the time of the meditation.

We shall start by closing our eyes and breathing, taking a deep breath in
and out, remembering the column of light that constantly shines into us from above, replenishing us. Now we bring to mind an image of a person, pet, or object that gives us a lot of strength, support and courage. To do this,
allow images to come to mind of people and pets and things in your life that
have shown you strength, support and courage. It does not matter what it is;
it could be a family member, someone you have never met, a fictional animal, or an event. It can be one or many. Perhaps it will be a whole group of people you have never met that you imagine, who showed strength, courage and support during an event. Choose one or more. Do this now. If you have not yet had something come to mind, it is enough to think of the words strength, support and courage. Do this now. Conjure up your image or think of the words. As you are doing this, feel the strength, support, and courage fill your every cell, tissue, muscle and organ. Take a moment to feel this strength, support and courage.

Realize that other lightworkers are doing this meditation with you. Know
that together as a group, you exude strength, support and courage. When we
exude this as a group, we exude more than the sum of our total strength,
support and courage. The group strength, support and courage is made
stronger by the fact that there is added cooperation among a group of people
working for a common cause. Feel this group strength, support and courage
now, as it comes back to you from your lightworker team.

Remember and sense the column of light that shines above you. Know that it
constantly bathes you with strength, support and courage, inside and
outside. Sense this strength, support and courage pouring into and over you.
Sense it as it fills your spine and expands out to every cell of your body,
all the way to your fingertips and the tips of your toes.

Good. Sense deep inside yourself and notice how you are full of strength,
support, and courage. Because of this strength, support, and courage, you
will be able to meditate with the intention of healing. You will be able to
make a difference tonight.

Before we begin our task, take a deep breath in and out. One more time,
feel the strength, support, and courage within you. Feel the strength,
support and courage that your fellow lightworkers are exuding, and the
strength, support and courage that come from the column of light above you.
On our journey tonight, you will be sharing this strength, support and
courage with others. You will share it with others in whatever way feels
right. Some of you may breathe out strength, support and courage at others;
some of you may use a straw to blow out strength, support and courage;
others of you may pour it out of a vessel; others may shine it from the
palms of your hands; others may simply think the words. Throughout the
meditation, some of you may change how you share the strength, support, and
courage. All this is fine. What matters is the intention to share feelings
of strength, support, and courage with individuals who need it. The
intention to share is strengthened by using the best method you can think of
to share.

Today is Memorial Day in the United States, and the focus of this meditation
will be on remembering individuals who have suffered and died fighting what
they believed is a just cause, and sharing feelings of strength, support,
and courage, with those who currently believe that they are fighting a just
cause. It does not matter whether we agree with the causes. The focus of
this meditation to help us get in touch with the souls of the individuals
involved in the causes. To do this meditation, we will not need to travel.
We can do this meditation while staying in the meditation room.

We will begin by focusing on a young soldier. Imagine a strong, energetic,
hopeful 19-year-old soldier who is proud to serve his country. He feels good
to defend his country from evil forces that threaten his country's standard
of life. Imagine that this soldier is fighting in the United States Civil
War. It does not matter whether this soldier is from the South or from the
North. This soldier fights in the war, even though he is afraid of dying,
and he is afraid of killing. Imagine him now. Now imagine his parents, his
siblings, his friends, and how proud they are of him. It does not matter
whether you agree with the concept of war. What matters are the convictions
of the young men who were involved. They were willing to fight for the
benefit of all that they loved. Although they are no longer alive, their
souls are. Conjure up the image of your soldier, in uniform, fighting for
what he believes, afraid of killing and of being killed. Send his soul
strength, support, and courage. Do this now.

Now select any current war or conflict and conjure up an image of a soldier.
If you cannot think of a current conflict, that is okay. You can select your
soldier without a specific conflict in mind. Your soldier may be as young as
eight and also may be a female. It does not matter who you select. Whoever
you imagine, this person is strong, energetic, hopeful, and very proud to
serve his or her country. He or she feels good to defend his or her country
from evil forces that threaten the country's standard of life. This soldier
fights even though he or she is afraid of dying, and of killing. Imagine the
soldier now. See the shine of pride in the eyes, and the courage of
conviction. Feel the determination to defend what is right and honorable.
Now imagine the parents, siblings, friends, and how proud they are. It does
not matter whether you agree with the concept of war. What matters are the
convictions of the individuals who are involved. They are willing to fight
for the benefit of all that they love, even though they are afraid of
killing and afraid of dying. Send them strength, support, and courage. Do
this now in your own way, whether it be by breathing these qualities to
them, shining these qualities through your palms, or sending these qualities
in another way. Send them strength, support and courage now.

Wars between and within countries are not the only wars we battle.
Convictions about defending a country's security are not the only
convictions. Individuals are frequently fighting battles, both externally
and internally. We will first focus on a few external battles. Imagine a
5-year-old boy living in a house where both parents physically abuse and
neglect him. His parents' abuse results in broken bones and scars. Imagine
this boy now. See how he is keeled over in a corner sobbing from pain. Hear
his silent screams. See his tears. Feel his pain. He continues to live day
by day because of his internal strength, and his soul's convictions to live.
However, one day the abuse is too prolonged and severe and he dies. Let us
remember him today, on Memorial Day, because he was a soldier in his own
house, with his own parents. His soul is still alive. Send his soul
strength, support, and courage. Do this now.

Take a deep breath in and out. Do this again, take a deep breath in and out.
Realize that there is another little boy or girl that lives today in the
type of abusive household we just imagined. In order for this child to
continue to live, we need to share our strength, support, and courage. Start
by connecting with this child by seeing the child bent in pain. Hear this
child's screams, kept silent to avoid more abuse. Feel what it is like to
be this child, really connecting with his or her being. Do this now. Now
take a deep breath in and out, and send this small child strength, support
and courage by breathing it or aiming it in your own way. Do this again.
Send the child strength, support, and courage. One more time. Send this
child strength, support, and courage. See the effect of your strength,
support and courage on the child. This child can live longer now, can
soldier on because of the strength, support and courage received from you
now.

Some of the soldiers that need to be remembered today, fought their battles
as young adults in schools and business. They had the conviction to be true
to themselves even if society saw them as different. Individuals have been
killed for being different, and we need to remember them today. Some people
who have been killed for being different include, gays, Blacks, Catholics,
Jews, geniuses, and vegetarians. Imagine any one of these individuals going
to school or to work, and being one of the few who think a certain way, look
a certain way, love a certain way, believe a certain way. Imagine that a
crowd of other young adults circle them everyday and verbally taunt them.
The verbal taunts get worse and worse, until they include physical violence.
The individual is afraid to go to school or to work because they are not
being protected from the harassment. School officials and people at work
pretend not to see. One day the physical assault becomes so bad that they
die. Imagine all of this now. Hear the verbal abuse, see the beating. It
does not matter whether you agree with or like how they thought, looked,
loved, believed. What matters is that we understand that they were
passionate in their way of thinking, way of looking, loving and or
believing. Although they are no longer alive, their souls are still alive.
Send their souls strength, support, and courage. Do this now.

Take a deep breath in and out. Do this again, take a deep breath in and out.
Realize that there is another young adult who lives today and experiences on
a daily basis the types of taunting that we have imagined. In order for this
young adult to continue to live, we need to share our strength, support, and
courage. First take a deep breath in and out, and now connect with this
person. See the difference between this person and those who are taunting
him or her. Feel the person's hurt and fear. And now see the physical
blows. As much as you can, feel what this person feels, not only the hurt
feelings and the physical pain, but the sense of being different and the
refusal to pretend. When you as connected to this person's feelings as you
can be, send your strength, support and courage. Do this now. Do this again.
Send the young adult strength, support, and courage. One more time. Send
this person strength, support, and courage.

Let us turn to internal battles. Throughout the ages, individuals have
fought terminal illnesses and lost. However, their souls fought noble
battles trying to stay alive. These souls need to be remembered today. Know
that someone struggled long and hard to stay alive while terminally sick.
Imagine a woman in a lot of pain but all of her cells, tissues, organs, and
muscles fought the battle to stay alive and healthy. The struggle lasted
days and weeks and dragged on for months. There were times when it looked
hopeful and she thought that she was going to survive. But eventually her
body had to succumb to the illness and she died. Imagine this now. Imagine
the grief around her as loved ones mourn her death. Hear their cries, see
their tears. Imagine this now. Although she is no longer alive, her soul is.
Send her soul strength, support, and courage. Do this now.

Take a deep breath in and out. Do this again, take a deep breath in and out.
Realize that there is someone today battling a terminal illness. Someone
today is hooked up to tubes and is fighting for her life. In order for this
person to continue to live, we need to share our strength, support, and
courage. First, get in touch with this woman's fear of dying and her
determination to live. Feel her fear and hope. Sense the weakness in her
body. Now send her strength, support and courage by breathing it to her, by
shining it at her, or in another way. The way does not matter. The intent
matters. Do this now. Do it again. Share the strength, support, and courage
with this woman. One more time. Share the strength, support, and courage.

This ends the work we do for others tonight. Send gratitude to your
lightworker teammates. Send it by breathing it to them, or by shining it
at them, or by aiming it in another way. Send gratitude to them now. And
now, open yourself to feel the gratitude of your lightworker team. Let it
blow into you, shine into you, sense it in whatever way it comes. Accept
this gratitude. It is important that you do. Accept this gratitude now.

Let us now turn to ourselves and realize that we have been soldiers in many
ways. Some of us have experienced the examples we just used. Even if some of
us have not fought in wars, or been raised in abusive families, we have all
been sick, we have all felt the experience of being different. Every time we
engage in a battle and lose, whether it is with others or with ourselves, we
lose a little piece of us. And every time we engage in a battle and win by
making the other lose, we also lose a little piece of us. It is important
for us all to hold on to the strength, support and courage that we have
collected tonight. It is important to remember the strength, support, and
courage as we fight our personal wars. Connect with all the lightworkers
who are working with you now, and send to them a wish. Do this now by
sensing in them the feeling of gratitude sent by them and accepted by them.
The giving and receiving of gratitude connects you. Take a breath, feel the
connection with them through this gratitude, and send the wish that they
will keep and grow within themselves this strength, support and courage.
Send this wish by breathing it, by shining it or by intending it. And now
formulate the intention to keep this strength, support and courage, and to
keep cultivating them. When you have formulated this intention, once again
send gratitude to your lightworker team. Feel the gratitude extending from
you to them and coming from them to you. When you have felt the gratitude both ways, open your eyes.
